The New Year began with some grim news. It was a realization that things at home will never be the same again. The news that my dad has a brain tumor was a humble reminder that our days are numbered. Thankfully, the doc says that the tumor is benign. Dad will be undergoing a brain surgery by the end of this week.
I am meditating on Psalm 121 to remind myself that my help comes the Lord who is the creator of heaven and earth. God is good and wise beyond all measure. His grace is sufficient in a time such as this!
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your life.
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
