One of Those Days

Every once in a while I experience one of those days.

It happens when you least expect it or least want it, but it’s there.
One of those days...unexpected things, missed lunches, exhaustion....

Last Friday, our company celebrated Diwali. I was excited and looked forward to that day. What better way to end the week?

But on Thursday, I got a call from my senior saying that she would not be in office which meant I would be the one reviewing the completed task for one of the projects we were working on. Oh no! Am I heading for one of those days?

Yes, sure enough. Friday arrived and even as I tried to enjoy, I ended up running around and keeping tabs on the status of the project I was involved in. I barely managed to say hi to my colleagues at work, missed my lunch, and my feet were hurting from the constant running around.

By the time, I finished my task; the Diwali program was almost done. Yeah, rite! I managed to see the prize distribution.

When I got back home, I was exhausted and hungry. (Didn’t have lunch, remember?)
Whew! Some day huh? Yes, it was one of those days!

Humor...The Best Medicine!

Mercury Rising!

With the temperature soaring and beads of sweat hanging on my brow, I am compelled to write on summer glares!! Summer this year has been brutal or should I say lethal? Every week there is a rise in mercury causing people to collapse in the summer heat. Call it global warming or whatever, the hot air does make everyone 'swoon'. So, what can be done to bear this season of glare? Simple!! Stay indoors as much as possible and hydrate yourselves! Treat yourself with icecreams. What better season than this!

It's those one of those days where you wish you could get away with a few winks. This kitty is so fortunate. Look at that serene face!!! Hey kitty kitty.....Wake up and smell the coffee...

Well I have a problem-I can't watch people sleep, coz I have this urge to wake them up! I know what you are thinking "How wicked"

Kya kare,aadat se majboor? (Habits die hard) Hee hee :P

Laughter riot....

Some things that crack me up:
1. When my dad wants to share something with us (my mom, my sis and moi) especially when he's brushing his teeth and he's practically foaming!! Trust me, we don't get a word he says and yet my daddy dearest continues to talk.

2. The character 'Sloth' from the animated movie "Ice Age" trying to strike a conversation with 'Manfred' the mammoth. The movie is worth a watch!!

3. Some crazy members in my gym attending a kick-boxing class and looking like electrocuted monkeys...

4. This one is my favorite: Watching silly serials aired on the telly....hahaha...they are hilarious man! Especially those scenes where the camera keeps zooming at every character to catch their emotions...Whew! tiring I tell u.....

Topic trivia

What do you when you are running short of topics to post on your blog? Hah ! For me as a content writer where I asked to churn out a minimum of 5 pages on issues like 'ecology' or say like this one 'insurances'...Trust me I run dry my dear, absolutely stone dry.... I'm talking about my creative juices running dry..tsk tsk.... See I can't even cry now. What a pity!

Then I scratch my head, "Should I write a movie review?" *thinking- might be too lengthy*. "How about some funny incident?" *Don't want to make a fool of myself* In the process of 'searching' for a sensible topic to write, I realize the sun has already set. Whew!! Then I have to settle for some gooey silly topic attached with a sillier pix. There goes my brave attempt at blogging. But nevertheless, the battle still continues with the song, "We shall overcome.....someday!!"

Cheap Thrills!!!

Over lunch with my colleagues, the topic we gradually strayed upon were the bus rides and the kind of people encountered. Out poured several comments about how unsafe these bus rides have become. More so, the female colleagues lamented about unhealthy encounters they have had with male co-passengers. Everything was said in good humor with every female colleague giving their innovative method of shooing these miscreants, if I could say so.

Later the topic diverted towards some hilarious events (bus rides of course!) Say for example while standing along the bus aisle and when sudden brakes are applied (happens more often) the poor passenger is forced to run forward (thanks to Newton's Law). Talk about casualties!!! Traveling in a bus requires stamina (u gotta run to catch it) flexibility (for navigating thru a thick crowd) and a sharp memory to collect the remaining change of the bus fare from the dubious bus conductor! So, you looking for some excitement and cheap thrills, alight this scrap metal...

Serious stuff

What can be done on days when there is no substantial work and it's hot? Yeah! M beginning to get really bored and I'm tired of finding ways to keep myself seriously occupied. For example these are the few serious stuff I have done:

1. Took umpteen personality quizzes and discovered many facets...like got to know my fruit personality and my animal side too....I have discovered I suffer from certain disorders too...Phew these quizzes!!!
2. Then I leaped to movie quizzes thinking that as a movie bluff I will be able to get 10/10...What nonsense! I am asked to remember the details of movies that was here today and gone tomorrow...Gimme a break.....
3. My favorite, online jigsaw puzzle...not that bad to begin with...after sometime I got bored.....
4. Yes I have donated free rice while trying to guess the right word in a game that tests your vocab.....Well, up till now maybe a kilo.....
5. And of course blog blog blog......

So readers, what are some of the 'serious stuff" that u do?? Enlighten me......

Spelling blues!!

I couldn't resist this one....I came across this poem on a website that talks about grammar softwares or spell check softwares that are unable to catch homonyms( eg: incorrect use of "two" & "too" or "to") ...Unfortunately the source is unknown.....It's a good one...Enjoy!!

Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

Believe it or not?

Does this ever happen to you or is it only moi? Like for example, I have been dying to watch certain movies, but no matter how hard I try, something comes my way that prevents me from watching that movie! You think I'm joking, eh? Well, for me its not funny at all...

I stumbled upon this movie"Mannequin on the Move" when I was in my teens. When I was just half way through the movie, for reasons I can't recollect, I could not watch the entire film. And its been more than 12 years and the status quo still remains. No matter what, I either get to see the end or none at all. C'mon guys that's not fair for a movie buff like me. Sometimes I laugh at this....But now its beginning to annoy me.....Grrrrr....

So my goal in the coming days is to watch the entire movie and fight tooth and nail if I have to...What say???
